International Curriculum Conference 2023

1-3 November 2023, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

ICC23 Overview

Sponsored by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER)

Every year our International Curriculum Conference is a key focal point for our global community of schools. Inspiring content includes not just thought-leading keynote speakers but also a wide range of school-led workshops delivered by classroom teachers sharing their practice and experience. With the incredible spotlights on and showcasing of learners, the International Curriculum Conference offers a unique level of enrichment, connection and learning for all.

Our 2023 conference was facilitated over three days. It was an invaluable opportunity to connect with our global community of schools and to participate in:

  • Pre-Conference Learning Walks to schools located in Ho Chi Minh City

  • 20+ hours networking opportunities with over 150 participants

  • School-led workshops, round tables and case studies related to the International Curriculum

  • Keynote Presentations including learners

Location and Venue

ICC23 was hosted by British International School Ho Chi Minh. Celebrating 25 years since its foundation, BIS HCMC is the leading British school in Vietnam. It has three purpose-built campuses located in the vibrant Thao Dien area of Ho Chi Minh City. Home to more than 2,300 students from 55 countries, the school offers an all-round education that balances academic excellence with personal, social and emotional development and wellbeing.

Ho Chi Minh, lying on the Song Sai Gon (Saigon River), is the largest city in Vietnam. With modern skyscrapers rising above traditional pagodas and French colonial architecture, it is the economic heart of Vietnam and the main hub of the southern region.

International Curriculum Conference 2022

In partnership with EduSpark

October 2022 saw the delivery of our first virtual International Curriculum Conference and what a fantastic event it was. The numbers alone are staggering: a total of 132 sessions were delivered leading to an incredible 72,366 minutes of participant engagement. Sessions were broadcast over two days and across two time zones with participants accessing from across the globe.

Our six keynote presentations, including one led by learners, were thought provoking and inspiring. With follow up workshops exploring practical application of some aspects of the keynotes, we were able to engage in genuine theory into practice.

Partner organisations, including our sponsors, delivered interactive sessions focused on some of the most pressing issues facing our learners such as mental health and well-being, climate change, resilience and sustainability.

Across our three curriculum stages: IEYC, IPC and IMYC, our school-led workshops and ICA presentations covered a truly broad range of stimulating and galvanising content.

"It was truly an interactive and interesting experience"

"There was a wonderful dialogue shared with representatives of the schools around the world"

"I found the entire conference very helpful and informative"

"Literally hours of high quality, insightful and thoughtful learning conversations engaging colleagues across the world"
